Auburn Langley, writer and local radio presenter discovered the original Lit & Phil during research for a heritage project. After many conversations with other enthusiasts, she decided it was time for the Lit & Phil to return to Wearside.
‘Chris Barnard has been CEO of Ouseburn Trust since 2014, a charity working to build a vibrant and sustainable future for the Ouseburn Valley. Chris has worked in the charitable sector for most of his career, operating community businesses, housing and construction schemes, heritage programmes, and shaping area regeneration. He is passionate about an enterprising approach that embodies social value’.
Kate Percival is a Development Manager at TOWN, a profit-with-purpose developer with a specialism in community-led housing. Kate has worked in regeneration in the North East for a number of years, working for the region’s architecture centre in the noughties and tens, going on to run an organisation that specialised in community engagement within regeneration programmes. A town planner, she is currently leading the Sunniside Place Strategy for Sunderland Council, an emerging ten-year programme to support the development of Sunniside as a strong city neighbourhood in Sunderland’s city centre.
Please be aware that audio recording will occur throughout the Sunderland Lit & Phil launch event, with plans to release the talks and discussions as a podcast episode for legacy and promotional purposes.
