🎭Second Wave rolls out
LAUNCH NIGHT FRIDAY 15 AUGUST AT 7:30PM:
🎭You are invited to a special launch night of Second Wave. This is a new section of Halifax Thespians being developed to offer extra opportunities for and development of members across the range of activities related to productions.
🎭Four times a year, Second Wave will present a three-evening production featuring several types of entertainment, such as one act plays – both established and new writing – script-in-hand presentations; Improv; and other creative events not usually presented by the Thespians.
🎭Through this programme, two key areas of member activity will be addressed. For some members, the prospect of learning a whole script’s lines is too daunting, but taking part in a one-act play, or script in hand still seems possible. Thus more opportunities arise for more members.
🎭On the other hand, there are those who want to learn more – about acting, directing and the technical side of productions. Though there are opportunities to shadow off-stage roles in main productions, Second Wave will be able to provide entry-level experience backed by the skills and knowledge of skilled members with more and dedicated time to mentor newer members.
🎭There has been a deliberate choice to help people develop “on the job” rather than with workshops.
🎭So pop along to the Playhouse Studio Bar on Friday 15 August from 7:30pm.
