About this Event
We cordially invite you to join us at the launch event of Home: Ukrainian Photography, UK Words, an exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian photography at The Turnpike Gallery from 30 November – 25 January. The private view event will be held on Friday 6th December, from 6–8PM.
Home is one of the primary and most common concepts in our lives, something a lot of people take for granted. But when the existence of your home is threatened, new value is found and the concept of 'home' is expanded. Curated by Max Gorbatskyi and Viktoria Bavykina, the Home exhibition shares work by leading Ukrainian photographers and UK poets who are reconsidering and rediscovering meanings of the word.
Home: Ukrainian Photography, UK Words is a touring exhibition organised by Open Eye Gallery and funded by Arts Council England. The Turnpike Gallery is the penultimate stop on the tour, following which the exhibition will be on display in Portcullis House, UK Parliament in February 2025.
Free to attend. Please RSVP and join us in supporting Ukrainian culture.
