Join us as we launch our Everyday Experiments video and look back on two years of radical prototypes.
About this Event

Everyday Experiments is a series of digital experiments by SPACE10 and IKEA, exploring ways to enhance our interactions with space and improve our everyday lives. The result is an array of clever ideas, radical proposals, and exciting prototypes, which each challenge the role of technology in the home.

Everyday Experiments is a digital and visual manifestation of one of our core beliefs — that innovation should be an open and collaborative process. Over the past two years, we’ve partnered with more than 120 people from 22 international studios, who each considered: how will tomorrow’s technologies redefine the way we live at home?

The result is more than 40 digital experiments that playfully explore how emerging technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, spatial audio, Internet of Things, machine learning, and blockchain might deconstruct and reconstruct notions of life at home — and how we can have fun in the process.

About the event

Join us as we launch our new short video, Everyday Experiments: Collaborative Futures. This five-minute manifesto celebrates the partners, methodologies and processes behind Everyday Experiments to demonstrate how sharing ideas openly, collaboratively and quickly is key to achieving democracy in the advancement of new home technologies.

As we reflect on this two-year project, naturally we’re asking: where to from here? Following the video screening, tech journalist Marie Høst will sit down with Siddharth Muthyala, Samah Hallgren, and Vera-Maria Glahn to discuss collaborative methodologies, empathy in experimentation, overcoming bias in tech, and narrative building as a mechanism for change.
