This event is in celebration of World Laughter Day ?
Come along if you would like to experience the healing benefits of laughter - it is a great way to relieve stress and flood the body with feelgood endorphins ?✨️
The theme of this year's World Laughter Day is Unity, celebrating how laughter can bring people together and melt down barriers!
HO! HO! HA! HA! HA!

WHAT IS LAUGHTER YOGA?
Laughter Yoga is the practice of spontaneous laughter, where you can laugh for absolutely no reason at all, without having to rely on humour or jokes!
Using a combination of deep breathing and playful exercises, we tap into the wellspring of joy available to us all and use the power of laughter to heal ourselves.
Ho! Ho! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Laughter has so many healing benefits, not least that it helps to reduce stress and releases feel-good endorphins in the body. It also boosts your immune system to fight off illness and can help you to create a more positive outlook in your life.
Scientific evidence tells us that the body cannot tell the difference between real laughter and fake laughter - we get the same health benefits from both! And so laughter yoga gets us laughing, which may begin as pretend laughter but very often soon turns into real laughter!
Laughter increases oxygen levels in the brain and body, helping us to feel refreshed, motivated and focussed. Laughing often also make us more resilient in life, able to respond more effectively to life's ups and downs.
The practice of Laughter Yoga was conceived by Dr Madan Kataria in 1995, starting with just five people in a park. The movement has now spread to over one hundred countries, with 10,000 regular laughter clubs worldwide!
Laughter is universal and it helps to connect us all, regardless of our different backgrounds. And when we laugh together in laughter yoga, we share the joy that we've evoked through the playful exercises. Be warned - other people's laughter can be very contagious indeed!
To get the full health benefits of laughter, we need to be laughing for at least 10-15 minutes per day. As it is not socially acceptible to laugh for such an extended period (nor laugh without reason!), coming to a laughter club provides you with a safe and non-judgmental space in which you can do this.
Join Nick as he facilitates these playful exercises that prompt you to laugh. Laughing for no reason is now a daily way of life for Nick and he wants to share the healing power of laughter with you!
Ho! Ho! Ha! Ha! Ha!

ABOUT THE EVENT
This event will take place at Woodhenge in Princes Park.
Woodhenge can be found via the Devonshire Road West entrance to the park. As you go along the main path, you will see the Woodhenge monument on your right hand side - a wooden formation that looks similar to Stonehenge.
If you have any issues with finding the venue, then please contact Nick on 07584906623.
The exchange for the event is £8 - if you want to secure your place, then you can do so via this link:

SOME OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
While doing the laughter exercises, we tend to move around a bit, so please wear clothes that are comfortable for this.
The ground might also be a little muddy in places, as you're heading over to Woodhenge, so please wear appropriate footwear - the ground within Woodhenge itself is dry / solid and suitable for the event.
Bringing some water can be a good idea too, as you might need it after laughing for a while!
Also, there is a toilet at the nearby garage or McDonalds, should you need to use one before or after the event.
At the end of the class, we will lie down on the ground for rest and relaxation, so please bring whatever you need to feel comfortable (i.e. a blanket, cushion or an extra layer of clothing).
There is some seating available at Woodhenge if you need to sit down during any of the exercises.
