The stars have aligned to open The Edge Ensemble’s 35th season with a return of one of our most iconic productions, Laughing Wild, by Christopher Durang. Laughing Wild reunites Founding Artistic Director Kim Dupuis directing one of the original ensemble founders, Scot Tolman. Scot will be reprising his memorable performance as “the man.” This time around Melanie Plenda-Washer will be playing the role of “the woman. The play features a male and female character, each dealing with the absurdities of modern life in New York City. The play is known for its dark humor and exploration of social norms, mental health, and the human condition. The two characters, who are not officially named, encounter each other in the tuna fish aisle of a supermarket and reveal, hilariously and poignantly, their own peculiar observations of what it means to be human. It debuted in an off-Broadway production in 1987 featuring Christopher Durang.
Performances are August 22-23 and 28-30 at 7:30 PM and August 24 and 31 at 2 PM, at The Edge Theater. Call 603-352-5657 or send an email to [email protected] for reservations!
