About this Event
Two-time Latin Grammy nominated Argentinian musician Julio Botti and his South American Project Band will perform in concert on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 7:30 pm at the popular Latin Jazz @ Galeria music concert series. TEATRO Sí presents this live music concert event at the wonderfully intimate GALERIA The Art Venue, located at 111 Quimby Street in downtown Westfield, NJ. Come to experience the acclaimed Tango/Jazz fusion and more compositions by saxophonist Julio Botti and the members of the South American Project in concert.
Julio Botti is a Latin Grammy nominated artist, composer and saxophonist. Botti started his music career at age 8, in Cordoba, Argentina where his mother gifted him his first saxophone. Since then, he has scoured the world to refine his skills and discover new and exciting sounds. From nightclubs in Havana to the popular cave venues of Madrid, from befriending Buddy Miles to collaborating with acclaimed artist Maestro Pablo Ziegler, Botti’s life has been a whirlwind journey, spanning almost 30 years over 3 continents, all in the pursuit to develop and perfect Nuevo Tango – a progressive form of Jazz Tango.
Two of his music albums received Latin Grammy nominations including; Tango Nostalgias nominated for Best Tango Album in 14th Annual Latin Grammy Awards (2013) and Sax to Tango nominated for Best Tango Album in the 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards (2016).
Julio’s two recent album recordings include; Jazz Tango Fusion (2019) with Julio Botti and his quartet breaking new ground in this ambitious musical journey. Blending masterpieces from Astor Piazzolla and Pablo Ziegler the album is an edgy and colorful reimagining of Modern Tango, with equal parts of modern Jazz.
The Pure Tango album (2020) is a blend between the vivid colors that traditional tango offers, with its traditional instrumentation fused the compelling sound of Botti’s saxophone. This album balances fresh and modern without losing the vintage sound of the old guard of tango rhythms, arrangements, and repertoire. The most recent single composition, El Tio is also offered in concert by this wonderful group of musicians for their supportive listeners.
Performing with Julio Botti, The South American Project Band includes talented music artists; special guest guitarist Juampy Juarez from Argentina, bassist Carlos Mena, and Tiago Michelin on drums.
Refreshments will be available for your enjoyment. Also enjoy the current fine art exhibitions at the unique GALERIA The Art Venue gallery, including fine art creations by several international and local artists. We recommend enjoying a fine meal or dessert at one of various fine restaurants in downtown Westfield before or after the show.
Online tickets are priced at $30 (+online fee).
