Join CURA and learn the art of Latin Dance from local legend Chiquy Mejia and the Chiqlets Dance Team! In this two class series, you will learn salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, and cha cha in a welcoming and fun environment where no dance partner is required. This 1-hour class will immerse you in the energetic music and rhythms that define latin dance emphasizing individual footwork, body mechanics, and isolations. The schedule will include a warm-up, drills to improve coordination and rhythm, and activities that enhance partner connection and musicality.This dance lesson is in conjunction with our upcoming salsa night "Noche Cubana" with Edgardo Cambon and Candela.

About the Artist:
Chiquy is a trained Venezuelan folk dancer, and specializes in Latin dance styles, including salsa, bachata, cumbia, cha-cha, and merengue. She loves using dance and music to uplift people's spirits and encourage self-expression. Motivated by her passion for music and dance, she founded the Chilqtes Dance Team in 2018, bringing together a vibrant group of individuals from various cultures and backgrounds. Since 2003, she has played a key role in the Morgan Hill community as the Recreation Coordinator, creating inclusive programs for all ages and abilities.
