Lathe of Heaven vznikli v roce 2021 v newyorském Brooklynu. Debut ‚Bound by Naked Skies' vyšel u Sacred Bones, je blendem britské nové vlny a finského post-punku s tématy inspirovanými řadou jejich sci-fi literárních lásek, včetně díla americké spisovatelky Ursuly K. Le Guin, jejíž román z roku 1971 dal kapele jméno. Jestliže byl debut ‚Bound by Naked Skies' jakousi intimní odyseou vývoje Lathe of Heaven a romantizujícím receptem na futuristickou melancholii zároveň, srpnová novinka ‚Aurora' (se kterou se LOH v listopadu vrací do Bike Jesus) posunuje hudební i textové limity dál a nabízí novou variaci a jemnou rovnováhu mezi jejich punkovými kořeny a new wave a post-punkovou estetikou 80. let. For fans of The Chameleons, Killing Joke, Twin Tribes, Sacred Hearts, Lebanon Hanover, Pawns, Night Sins, The Cure, Musta Paraati, Vex, A Flock of Seagulls, Fontaines DC.

Lathe of Heaven formed in 2021 in Brooklyn, New York. Their debut album ‚Bound by Naked Skies', released on Sacred Bones, is a blend of British new wave and Finnish post-punk with themes inspired by a number of their sci-fi literary loves, including the work of American author Ursula K. Le Guin, whose novel gave the band its name. If their debut ‚Bound by Naked Skies' was both an intimate odyssey of Lathe Of Heaven's development and a romanticized recipe for futuristic melancholy, their new record ‚Aurora' (with which LOH returns to Bike Jesus in November) pushes musical and lyrical limits further, offering a new variation and a delicate balance between their punk roots and the new wave and post-punk aesthetics of the 80s.
