About this Event
Starting from the Goethe-Institut Glasgow, we will stroll through Kelvingrove Park along buggy-friendly paths, celebrating the season with glowing lanterns and warm community spirit.
This event is inspired by the German tradition of St. Martin’s Day, which honours a Roman soldier, known for his act of kindness in sharing his cloak with a beggar. In Germany, children mark the occasion with lantern processions and songs.
After the walk, we will return to the Goethe-Institut for hot drinks and biscuits to warm up and chat.
Please bring your own lantern – or join our German Story Circle children’s group on 17 November to craft one in advance!
Everyone is welcome – we look forward to seeing you there!
