Last Words Metro Concert Series (Jones Cemetery)
About this Event

The Last Words Concert Series is creating community around death support. Crystal Meneses an Oregon Death Doula, Hospice Chaplain, and Arts Activist has written legacy songs in honor of Oregonians who have died. These songs will be debuted at the cemeteries and live recordings from the concerts will be made into a live album titled, Last Words. The live album recordings will be used to raise funds for Oregon's first Death Doula care space for houseless veterans in partnership with, Do Good Multnomah a local nonprofit that serves Oregon's houseless. The Death Doula care space is called, Embrace Space a partnership project between Embrace Death Doula Care and Do Good Multnomah.

We invite you to get your picnic on!!!! In the early 19th century communities used to gather for picnics in their local cemeteries and there are many cultural practices where communities honor their ancestors by sharing food and memories together where loved ones are buried. Together we will embrace living and dying through community and song.
