Amethyst Beard A professional artist since 2014, I specialize in LED light responsive work. The pieces often appear to move in the color changing lights. For example, optical illusions will appear or disappear, eyelids may open or close,
or hidden pictures may illuminate. Often my works are multiple media and incorporate 3D effects. There truly is no other artist locally doing work similar to mine. In addition, I enjoy pen and graphite work. My favorite topic is strong alternative looking
women. I often live paint as my work starts with a blank canvas at the beginning and by the end of an event, is often completed. I have been featured at events all over the Northwest. I enjoy working with wood because you can use the natural texture to enhance
the visual representation.
In addition to being a professional artist, I eat, dream and breathe art. I am constantly running a variety of art events in the community including community murals, art contests, classes and supporting other artists through
a variety of events. I live in a 120 year old Queen Anne Victorian house and each room features my collection of original art pieces. I am lucky to be able to influence emerging artists in my professional career. Helping students to master their passion is
a cherished gift. I learn from watching others and applying new techniques to my style. I believe art is an ever evolving pulsating being.
