This meetup is a fun, interactive opportunity to experience live music on the third Thursday of each month. It is a combination pub sing and show which helps teach pub songs and sea shanties to the multitudes and allows us to hone our performances as we enjoy our 15th season performing. We have a songbook. We are outdoors when the weather permits, indoors otherwise. We will be in pirate gear, but you can come as you are!
The pirate sing is loosely run, but typically we have a board for requests, (to sing for the group, lead a song, or have us do something). We treat it as an open rehearsal so we may also work on our numbers for an upcoming festival or try some new songs on an audience. Everyone can listen, join in, offer a song, and enjoy the evening.
Our music is a mix of a capella and accompanied music; we sing a mix of madrigals, pub songs, love songs, sing-along pub songs, sailor songs, drinking songs, and even some children's songs, just to balance things out.
Bring an instrument and join us, sing along, or just listen.
