About this Event
For these classes, we'll apply what we learned in Intro to Laser Cutting and create our own projects. We'll explore methods of designing for the laser-cutter, practice testing our materials and settings, and learn some tricks to keep your projects looking great.
Must have taken Intro to Laser Cutting or otherwise are approved to use the laser cutter.
Current Project: Make an Acrylic Light-Up Sign
January and February
Materials: Acrylic panel, wooden LED base
Participants will design their own sign featuring a simple phrase or inspirational word for the year ahead. We'll learn how to use the Offset feature of LightBurn, and we'll also explore the Fill feature on the laser cutter. We'll go over different types of fills, useful ways to apply fills, and how to optimize your fill setting for your job.
Participants will leave with a USB-powered LED edge-lit sign of their own design, to light their way and inspire them through the year.
Future Projects:
- March + April: Design your own Laser-Etched Journal
