Laser Cutter Certification

This class is for folks new to using a laser cutter. Members who complete this class will be certified to use the laser in the space independently. Non-members must join to access this and many other tools at the makerspace.

This Intro class will cover:

• laser safety
• how a CO2 laser works
• what can and can't be cut
• how to import a file containing both raster and vector information into the laser software
• how to determine cut and engrave settings
• Start up and shut down procedures

For your safety, please wear closed-toe shoes, tie long hair back, and avoid any dangling jewelry or baggy clothing.

How do you find us? We are on the 1st floor of the apartment building. Enter the main door and proceed past the elevators. Take the first hallway to the right. Exterior doors lock at 8:30 pm. If you are not a member with a door code, please plan to arrive before then. Parking is street parking and plentiful in the area.
