Laser Cut Earring (or Keychain)
This class is a creative and hands-on workshop that introduces participants to the fascinating world of digital design and laser cutting. In this class, participants will learn how to use Boxysvg, a user-friendly vector graphics editor, to design unique and personalized earrings and how to cut them out of acrylic or wood using the Glowforge. Whether you're a beginner or have some prior experience, this class offers an exciting opportunity to unleash your creativity and create stunning accessories. Students will leave with their unique laser cut earrings assembled on silver findings.
Class Objectives:
- Learn the fundamentals of digital design and vector graphics using Boxysvg.
- Understand the principles of laser cutting and its applications in jewelry making.
- Explore various design techniques and concepts for creating visually appealing earrings.
- Upon completion of this orientation course and with a pay what you can donation, you will be certified to use this equipment during our Open Maker Hours. (https://www.thefoundrybuffalo.org/makerspaces)
