CLASS DESCRIPTION: Learn to prepare and print beautiful fine art quality giclee images on our two large-format Epson SureColor printers. Each participant will take away at least 2 large archival quality prints of their own work. This class is perfect for illustrators, photographers, and other artists desiring to print their own editions.
Successful completion of the class will earn a digital badge: "Giclee Printing DIY User." These badges will be vaildated by CertifyMe.
NOTE: This badge certification is required for all who wish to use Create Appalachia's lab for DIY printing.
Topics to be covered include:
- an introduction to fine art giclee printing
- digital image prepration in Adobe Photoshop
- hands-on printing on large format printers

Instructor Bio: Recently retired after 22 years as Associate Professor of Digital Media at East Tennessee State University, Cher Cornett has worked profesionally as a graphic designer, photographer, and illustrator since 1980. She was a beta tester for the first version of Adobe Photoshop and has taught digital photo editing for more than 30 years. She trained with Cone Editions' experts on fine art printing techniques using Epson ink jet printers and creates and exhibits digital fine art and photography. Cher is also a senior fellow for the International Digital Media Arts Association and a judge for the American Advertising Federation's ADDY award competitions.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Saturday lunch is on your own. There are a number of restaurants close by. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, we have a microwave and a fridge that you can use. We will supply coffee and a light breakfast in the morning. There is free parking all around our building and in the Shelby Street Garage just across the street. Please use our member entrance when you arrive--it's marked with signs and is right across from the Shelby Street garage.
