
About this Event
Do you have art supplies that you no longer need, but are still in working condition? Would you love to find free materials that you do need? Then come to Lansdowne’s Fall Art Supply Exchange! At this event, you can bring art supplies you no longer want (but are still usable) for others to take, and pick up new supplies for yourself from what others have brought. The event will take place on October 18th at Utility Works. Drop-off of supplies will open at 11 am and end at 2 pm, and the “shopping” period for supplies will last from 12 pm to 4 pm.
The following types of supplies are accepted at the Exchange:
- Drawing supplies, such as pencils, pens, markers, crayons, etc
- Painting supplies, such as still-usable paints, brushes, canvases, frames, etc
- Paper and sketchbooks
- Scrapbooking materials
- Fabric, yarn, thread, usable scrap material
- Printmaking supplies
- Ceramic & clay work supplies
- Usable adhesive material such as glue, paste, tape, etc
- Small hand tools such as scissors, hammers, tape measurers, etc
- Stickers, rhinestones, glitter, beads (MUST be in sealed containers)
- Silk flowers
- Storage containers
- Studio furniture such as desks, lamps, stools, etc (must be intact, usable, and under 50 lbs)
- Art books, photography books, etc
- Office supplies such as post-its, paper clips, notebooks, etc
- Any other USABLE art & craft supplies!
The following types of supplies are not accepted at the Exchange:
- Hazardous material and e-waste (including solvents, batteries, electronics, etc)
- Containers that are leaking, dripping, sticky, or wet
- Liquid and semi-liquid materials such as paint or adhesives that are congealed or dry (or unusable for other reasons)
- Construction materials over 50 lbs, such as bags of concrete
- Furniture and appliances over 50 lbs
- General garbage such as discarded wrappers/non-reusable packaging material, unusable scrap material, broken items, etc
- We retain the right to turn down any material deemed toxic, hazardous, too heavy, or unacceptable for other reasons
Parking:
- Street Parking is free.
- The Highland avenue parking lot behind Dunkin Doughnuts is also available for parking, if there is not closer street parking.
