About this Event
Three brilliant student competition winners, bassist Devin O'Brien, cellist Julie Chen and violinist Elliot Anderson, play showcase pieces by Bottessini, Elgar and Sarasate.
Infused with folk-like melodies as well as ingenious use of orchestra colors and texture, the three-movement Concerto for Orchestra (1954) by Polish composer Withold Lutosławski is a virtuosic showpice for symphony orchestra in the vein of Bartók or Shostakovich: don't miss it.
Parking at Upper Darby is free, and students, families, new audience members and long-time listeners are very welcome!
