About this Event
Starting towards the end of October, fencing contractors will be on site in the Willow Park area removing existing fencing and installing new external stock fencing as part of an ambitious grazing project coming to Langdon Nature Discovery Park.
Essex Wildlife Trust have been awarded a grant from Veolia Environmental Trust through the Landfill Community Trust to invest in No-Fence collars for the cattle that graze this amazing landscape.
This new and exciting technology uses GPS to create invisible fencing giving more control over where the cattle graze and when, and allowing the cattle to graze in a more naturalistic way. The new stock fence will create one large enclosure within the Willow Park area rather than several smaller fields and allow grazing to occur were it has previously not been possible.
This talk and walk will be an opportunity to learn more about the project and ask any questions. It will be led by Nature Reserves Manager, Ruth and Conservation Grazing Officer, Ethan.
