About this Event
Instructor: Cathy Faughnan (www.cathyfaughnan.com)
Adults and Teens - minimum 4, max 10 participants
This 4-week series will focus on one element of a landscape painting each week to help students gain knowledge and techniques to create elements found in most landscape paintings. Many students often struggle with techniques to create believable trees, rocks clouds and water thus they will take these elements one at a time to advance their skills in landscape painting. Students will explore the use of color, value, edges and brush stroke techniques during this class series. Students will create 3-4 works during this class series each focused on one of these elements. This class series is open to beginning and more advanced students. The instructor will help those just starting out with the concepts of color theory, value and drawing. Students can choose to take the classes as a series or individually as their schedule allows.
Materials to Bring to Class: Students will supply all materials including a sketch book and sketching tools, paint, brushes, pallet and painting surface of your choice. Some reference photos will be provided but students are encouraged to take and bring their own. Please bring a phone with a camera to aid in developing your painting and documenting your progress. Cathy will share a materials list with enrolled students.
