About this Event
Join artist Dawoud Bey for a conversation-style lecture with Chief Curator Coralie Claeysen-Gleyzon. This program centers on Bey’s powerful video installation Evergreen, filmed at Evergreen Plantation in Wallace, Louisiana, the most intact plantation complex remaining in the United States. Shown across three synchronized video channels, Evergreen traverses the landscape, revealing sweeping stands of trees and the preserved living quarters once inhabited by enslaved Black people. Through this guided dialogue, attendees will gain insight into Bey’s artistic process and the historical weight carried by the site and its imagery.
Featuring live poetry by Justin Lang.
