About this Event
From Jesse Curran:
"In this immersive workshop we will generate poetry through beholding visual art that represents the Long Island landscape, which Walt Whitman so deeply loved. Through this process, we will consider what landscape painting offers in inspiring the poet's practice as well as deepening one's relationship to place."
Learn about ekphrasis, the use of detailed description of a work of visual art as a literary device, from Long Island Poet of the Year 2025.
