Do you feel differently at the edge of a creek than you do in a wide open field? We’re affected by the landscapes through which we move, by the sounds of wind and water, by bulrushes and cottonwoods, beavers and birds, temperature and light.
Join Friends of Coal Creek Writer-in-Residence A. Manette Ansay for a generative workshop that explores the relationship between landscape and character–our own as well as those we create in fiction and poetry–using open space lands along Coal Creek as a living, evolving springboard.
We will meet at the new Lafayette Nature Center gazebo for introductions and a presentation, followed by a mindful walk (wheelchair accessible) along the Coal Creek Trail with stops for targeted writing prompts, technical tips and feedback.
Bring your choice of portable writing materials (clipboard may be handy), comfortable walking shoes, water & a snack. Writers, journal-keepers, and creatives of all genres and levels are welcome.
Tuition: $25. All proceeds go to Friends of Coal Creek.
