The Missouri State Museum's "Landing After Hours" program, is held the first Wednesday of each month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site,100 Jefferson Street. Join us in-person or via Facebook Live. Doors open at 6:30 and the program starts at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building (100 Jefferson St.).Join us Feb. 5th for "Mark Twain and His Amazing Friends" presented by Museum Interpreter Lucas Schwartz.
Mark Twain is well known not just in Missouri, but throughout the world as an author and humorist. However, it may come as a surprise to learn how well connected he was too many other well-known figures from his time period. In this program we’ll explore some of his famous friendships. We’ll especially focus on his relationships with Helen Keller, Frederick Douglass, Nikola Tesla, P. T. Barnum, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Ulysses S. Grant.
