As the old saying goes “If you don't like the weather in Missouri, wait 5 minutes and it'll change!” This adage might be true of many places, but the truth is in Missouri, our weather has been a challenge to overcome for centuries. Artists have long depicted the human struggle against the volatility of Mother Nature including the passage of time allegorized by the changing of seasons.
Join Dr. Sarah S. Jones as she takes us on a virtual trip through the art museums of Missouri to celebrate winter and examine artworks that depict seasonal weather and its effects on Missouri landscapes.
This program is free and open to the public, no reservations are required. For more information please call 573-751-4127.
