Meet up at our office at 15 Chambers.Archtober Newburgh is an annual festival of 25+ free events that celebrates the city's rich architectural heritage, connects people to resources and promotes local initiatives in the community.
We will lead a walking tour of Lander St on Sunday October 5 at 3pm.
Lander Street, once a block that was emblematic of the vacant and abandoned housing crisis in Newburgh, has been completely transformed since we started our work in 2012.
We will share the land bank’s history and strategy for stabilizing the block through home ownership, historic restoration and infill development projects across 38 properties. We will be joined by some of our partners in this work: local architect and preservationist Jeff Wilkinson and RUPCO, the nonprofit housing developer that has built or rehabbed 35 affordable rental properties at former land bank properties- including 15 properties on Lander alone!
