Lancaster Bike Path Group Ride!
I am going to start a monthly group bike ride. The goal is to get people active, make new friends and see some familiar faces in a fun friendly environment!
When: First Saturday of each month starting in April, so, that means April 5th will be the first ride.🗓
Time: Leaving the OU-L parking lot at 8:30 am. We're not waiting for anyone and we will be leaving at 8:30 I can't stress this enough. If you're late you better pedal fast to catch up!🕣
Distance: We will bike one direction for 45 minutes and then turn around so we are done at roughly 10:00. How far will we go? I estimate 10-12 miles. You are more than welcome to go as far as your want. We're sticking to the trail so you hopefully can't get lost.🗺
Speed: This will be a CASUAL ride speed. Roughly 10 mph if not slower so literally anyone on any bike at any age (mostly) can keep up. We won't be stopping for people to catch their breath though, I'm pretty good at reading the group and the pace that needs kept. If you fall behind no worries! Remember we're turning around and coming back! 🐢
Weather: If its raining or below 32° expect this not to happen. Its Ohio, who knows what the weather is going to be. There will be no make up date, it'll just happen the next month. I will post in the comments the night before or the morning of if it's cancelled. 🌧
Other Info: I'll be there around 7:45 with an air pump and other simple tools with me if you need a quick adjustment made. I might bring coffee if I remember but no promises. Other than that I highly suggest you make sure your bike is ready to ride prior to arrival. Remember, this is just a fun casual ride! You're more than welcome to pull trailers with kids or pets, play music, do whatever! Make it fun! That's the whole goal of it! If you play music I ask that it be clean music so we can respect everyone. Helmets are also encouraged but not required. What you do with your brain is up to you. 🧠
