Lampshade making workshop - Make 2 lamps shades: Paint and decorate your own design on a 30 cm lampshade and make a second 20 cm shade for free. Have fun and be creative.

Do you want to have a go at lampshade making? You will learn how to make your own lampshade to take away and also have fun creating your own design? You can paint on your own design, use stencils, permanent markers, trims, buttons etc. Let your mind wonder – anything you fancy that inspires you to make something for yourself, a friend, or your children?
This is a full day workshop, in which you will learn how to make your own 30 cm gorgeous drum lampshade and decorate it with your own design, with the opportunity to make a second 20cm lampshade for free. We provide a calico material suitable for decorating for both shades. If you wish to make the second lampshade using your own material, please bring your own fabric - this can be velvet, cotton, polyester etc. Please note that satins are not suitable.
In the morning session you will learn how to make a lampshade and paint or decorate your own shade (adding some embellishment if you wish). If you’d like to add your own trims to your lampshade bring those along too, this could include, braid, buttons, felt shapes and fringing. In the afternoon you will learn the skills to assemble your lampshade and will finish making your own shade.
This session will give you the skills to make other lampshades from your chosen fabrics or other deigns. You will discuss suitable fabrics, trims and alternative shapes. Extra lampshades kits, can also be purchased on the day.
Refreshments are provided throughout the day and lunch can also be provided at an extra cost.
This workshop would be perfect gift for someone moving to a new house, for someone you know who wants to have a go at making their own home accessories or a just a fun activity to do with friends.
