UPDATE: the Lakewood city council has decided to cancel their October 6th meeting and instead hold a study session. We we'll still meet at the city council building at 6:30 p.m. and instead turn our efforts to a rally. the council will be inside the building doing their study session and will be able to hear us and see us. let's make our presence be known, and seen!
We will then attend their October 13th meeting, for public comment. we will also meet that day at 6:30 to host a rally before the meeting gets started at 7:00. p.m..

Monday Oct 6th is going to be our BIGGEST push to date!
We have received information that the Lakewood City Council would like to hold off on writing the policy for the independent oversight committee until at least December. The justice Jax deserves and we demand cannot wait until then. There has been new footage obtained by the police from the night Jax disappeared. And this just proves even further that the Lakewood police has not handled this case properly. The camera system should have been put into evidence, and they could have had their IT department recover all footage that was needed.
We understand if the city council members want to wait to write the policy for the permanent oversight committee starting in December. We understand they want to do it right, however we cannot hold off on oversight for Jax's case.
Please stay tuned for some talking points. We would like to stay on topic and be effective with our time speaking at the meeting.
We have already addressed security issues and have a plan put in place.
We ask that as many of our local friends, family, allies, and community members join us. And we ask anyone who can stay with us for the whole city council meeting. We will provide pizza in between the two public comment sections, as well as do another rally during that time period. It will be a long night. So please be prepared.
