About this Event
The Lakeside Pride Pops Ensemble’s final concert of the season draws inspiration from one of Maya Angelou’s most famous poems and the perseverance it expresses. You will hear music from Pippin, which conveys the prince’s determination to find his life’s purpose. In Spirited Away, Chihiro shows great bravery as she tries to bring her and her parents back to the human world. Omar Thomas’ A Mother of a Revolution, based on activist Marsha P. Johnson, reminds us of the persistence that made history for LGBTQ+ rights. Join us on June 3rd at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School to see who else reminds us why we still rise.
