The Laker Leadership Academy is designed to encourage and empower Mid Michigan College students by providing engaging opportunities to learn from Mid alumni and local professionals. Through monthly sessions, students will explore essential leadership and professional topics, build career-ready skills, develop a strong professional network, and gain confidence in navigating their future success!
Students who successfully complete the academy are eligible for a $500 scholarship from the Mid Michigan College Foundation to support their continued pursuit of a credential.

All sessions take place from 3:30 PM – 5 PM on the Mt. Pleasant Campus (CSS 235).

Thursday, October 23 – Setting Goals & Creating a Vision Board
Thursday, November 20 – Learning Financial Literacy
Thursday, December 11 – Building Your Professional Network
Thursday, January 22 – Creating an Impactful Resume & Digital Brand
Thursday, February 26 – Ensuring Flexibility & Adaptability in Your Career Path
Thursday, March 26 – Managing Conflict Through Effective Communication. 👉 BONUS: Get your professional headshot taken at 3 PM before this session!
Thursday, April 23 – Gaining Professional Skills Employers Are Seeking
🎓 Scholarship Information
Students who complete at least six of the eight sessions are eligible for a $500 Mid scholarship. Scholarships are limited to 25 participants.
