Under Canberra’s spring sky, Lake Burley Griffin will glow with lanterns, music, and stories from across Asia. Join us at Henry Rolland Park from Friday–Sunday, 3–5 October 2025, for three days of food, culture, and family-friendly fun that celebrates reunion, gratitude, and the beauty of the full moon.
【River Lantern Blessing】(Friday, Saturday and Sunday:5:30pm-10:30pm)
Add your wish to a lantern and set it afloat at dusk—a moving, photogenic moment that captures the spirit of Mid-Autumn: care for family, community, and harmony. A cherished Asian tradition of well-wishing, the River Lantern Blessing invites you to inscribe a hope or message on a lantern and gently set it afloat on Lake Burley Griffin—symbolically kindling the inner lights of wisdom and compassion. Rooted in centuries-old harvest and remembrance rituals, the act of releasing a lantern honors family, community, and the continuity of life, carrying our aspirations across the water like moonlight. Join the flow, make a wish, and add your glow to a collective moment of harmony and gratitude.
【Moonlight Concert】(Saturday: 7:30-8:30)
When traditional Chinese instruments meet silken vocals, magic happens—led by renowned soprano Ya Fen, this cross-cultural showcase blends folk ensembles, live band, K-pop, and classical dance. As dusk settles, song rises from the lawn’s quiet heart and the park naturally gathers into a moonlit camp—lanterns threading soft paths, a luminous moon casting its hush—while you stretch out on the grass or sink into an inflatable sofa and let the music tell the moon’s old stories.
【Immersive Hanfu Experience】(Saturday and Sunday:10:30am-5:30pm)
Step into the Mid-Autumn legend with costumed actors guiding you through interactive scenes. Try on Hanfu (traditional attire) and snap a keepsake photo as you time-travel through a beloved festival story.
【Hanfu Mystery Quest — Daily 10:30 am–5:30 pm】(Saturday and Sunday:10:30am-5:30pm)
Ready for a little moonlit intrigue? Throughout the day, “characters from the past” will roam the park in gorgeous Hanfu with hidden tasks and whispered clues. Strike up a conversation, solve a riddle, or complete a playful challenge to earn a stamp. Collect the full set of stamps to crack the Mystery of the Moonlit Night—and claim a free keepsake gift at our prize desk.
Every character holds a different piece of the puzzle, so keep your eyes open and your curiosity switched on. It’s family-friendly, drop-in fun: part treasure hunt, part live theatre, and 100% selfie-worthy.
