Start your new year with a 3 night winter weekend in one of the prettiest valleys in the Lake District. This holiday is based at High Swinside Farm above the Lorton Valley in West Cumbria with extensive views and a stunning hillside setting. The Lorton area holds a special place in my heart. Let me share it with you on this short winter break.
High Swinside boasts panoramic views across the vale of Lorton. The peaceful position at the end of a private track offers a rare opportunity to escape the pressures of modern life. Nestled on the flanks of Ladyside Pike, there is abundant birdlife and wildlife, along with resident chickens and neighbouring Herdwick sheep.
Each day we will head out for a group walk and swim with Crummock Water, Buttermere, and Loweswater all within a 20 minute drive. Walks are sociable in nature, led at a relaxed conversational pace. We will be sticking to valley level so there are no steep hikes but you can expect some occasional short minor climbs - we brief you daily so you know what to expect, and opting out is always an option. January is a chilly month so expect to swim once a day and warm up in the hot tub when we return to the accommodation.
Meals will be taken as a group, all home catered with plenty of choice for all tastes and dietary requirements.
As is customary on my trips, we have thought of everything so you can truly switch off and enjoy your weekend. All you have to do is get here. Fully catered, transport to walks and swims included, a detailed packing list… just grab your swimsuit and let’s go!
