The LAJ Landmarks Challenge is a challenge, not a race. This event will send you all around the city collecting landmarks. Each landmark will be assigned a value based on its distance from the start and its difficulty to find. The goal is to accumulate as many points as you can within the 90-minute time limitation. Landmarks will be provided ONLY before the start of the mandatory briefing. Rain or shine we run!Athletes are required to compete in teams. Team of 2 people of any gender. 4€ per person, or 8€ per team. During the event, your team must start together; run together; find the landmarks together (take selfies); and finish together. A team finishes when its LAST member crosses the finish line.
A bag check will be provided at Race HQ. Please arrive with enough time to check in and prepare to start based on the schedule below. You will be required to run with your phone. You and your teammate will be expected to take selfies with the landmarks and have your race uploaded to Strava. The team that makes it back with the most points before the timing cut-off will receive a cash prize. In the event of a tie, the fastest time wins, and if multiple teams finish simultaneously we will use a quiz night tiebreaker question.
The unmarked course will take athletes through Madrid via the streets, bridges, sidewalks, parks, and landmarks.
All money raised will go to prize money: 1st place is 30€, 2nd place is 20€ and 3rd place is 10€.
