Wanna be part of the audience of this live recording session?
It can be that the pieces are played twice,
and this will be part of the beauty of the moment,
since each time the piece will be different.
Murray’s music is a delicate mix between fragility and serenity with an earthed centre, a ‘composer unwilling to rest’. His latest album (Rounded Nature) sits in the space between an earthed, tight knit approach to sound and something fragile and serene, in the air but not light. Stemming from inspirations of cyclic findings, the music envelops itself around this idea, twisting into new corners and avenues, described by AllAboutJazz as something of ‘Wayne Shorter’s sounds of surprise’. Deeply rooted in the simple idea of expression and abstraction, Murray resides in this world, allowing his improvising, composing and music to draw continuously and extensively from this place.
