The 17th/18th weekend includes the pre-Gregorian Twelfth Night, or ‘Old Twelvey’, and a New Moon so this seems like a very fortuitous date for our first ever Community Orchard Wassail.We can make this however we like, so wear warm clothes and maybe something a bit weird (feathers? leaves? facepaint?) and bring:
a) food or drink to share
and/or
b) pots and pans to bang (it's traditional but we may decide it's not great for wildlife....I'm not sure) or some sort of musical instrument
or just bring yourself if you've got a busy day!
We'll have a little litter pick and orchard tidy, and then wassail at the end, at 3:15-3:30 p.m., so if you do just want to turn up for the wassail, turn up then 🙂
