About this Event
In partnership with Wellstar, The Spalding Collaborative, and UGA extension, Operation M.I.S.T. is teaching women how to take control of their health and embrace the power of womanhood.
At this event, you will learn:
- The difference between the vagina and the vulva
- 5 functions of the muscles between your hips
- Why some women pee on themselves and have pain with sex while others don't
- The range and purpose of fluids that are produced by the female body
- Exercises to prevent and address issues that can arise while pregnant or after having a baby
- How physical therapists can help with prolapse, tailbone pain, abdominal muscle separation (aka diastasis recti), scar tissue, and high blood pressure
- Why doing kegels isn't the answer to every issue we may encounter
You can expect a mixture of education, Q and A, and hands-on activities.
Food will be provided.
Knowing that 50% of women show up to pregnancy unplanned, women deal with issues after pregnancy that could have been prevented, and the number 1 killer of women in the U.S. is heart disease, we are on a mission to teach women everything they need to know about their bodies as early as possible so they can prepare and protect them throughout all phases of womanhood.
If you have any questions now or on the day of the event, please call 478-254-0122 or email us at [email protected]. To learn more about Operation M.I.S.T., visit www.operationmist.org.
