Immerse yourself!During one week, we will explore the intricacies of dancing social tango in both roles. We will use simple means but aim for a high quality of movement and a strong bond with our partners and the music. Apart from dancing, we will spend many hours connecting to ourselves, each other and tango in a wonderful setting that will further our holistic approach.
Each morning, we will prepare our bodies with exercises from yoga, spiral dynamics, ballet and other approaches to movement. After some leisure time and a light supper, we will spend the afternoon, working intensively on your tango dance.
A three course menu awaits us in the evening, that will be extended with tango practice, films and discussions about what tango means to us and how we can improve our wellbeing in this beautiful dance.
The participants:
This retreat is for women only, no matter their level of dancing, even beginners. We welcome everyone who is willing to share this week of intense work and bonding.
The teachers:
Melina Sedó has been teaching tango since 2001. Apart from her regular work together with Detlef Engel, she has djed at hundreds of international tango events, conducted Ladies Only classes and hosted the first Tango Queens Congress in 2020. Melina has a diploma in Psychology, has studied Yoga and will conclude a training in dance therapy in 2024. Through her work and writing, she has positioned herself as an advocate for confident women within the tango community.
Varvara Kountouzi is a greek dancer who lives in the USA. She had concluded Detlef and Melina’s teacher training and has been teaching in her hometown Philadelphia. In recent years, she has taken up classical ballet to develop her dance and help others to become poised and centred.

The Château D'Archambault in Burgundy is offering charming rooms, a spacious park and a private swimming pool. A celebration of French lifestyle enriched by daily lessons and sweet minilongas. There is plenty of time to relax or explore the serene landscape with its many vineyards and picturesque villages. Actually Noyers – the adjacent town – is one of the most picturesque places that we’ve ever seen.

The price includes classes, evening activities on site and full board with a healthy and varied cuisine. Be prepared for wonderful dishes after Ottolenghi prepared by our cook Marik! One day in the week is free of group activities. On this day, only breakfast is served.
