Kris Youmans’ songwriting is strongly, roots influenced and as Southern as her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, where she got her start playing solo in the pubs that line River Street. Her original songs have been chosen for the Savannah episode of View Finders on Georgia Public Broadcasting. Kris’ band was voted ‘Best Band’ in 2020, 2021 in the Best of Coweta poll & has placed third in 2023,2024. She was the winner 2016 Ga Country Awards for Traditional Artist, & has placed in the finals every year since. Her full country band -was chosen by GPB to be part of the Country Connection, In advance of Ken Burn’s documentary Country Music.
When asked about her journey in music by Shoutout Atlanta, Mary Martin states; “My story is simple – I am a self-made musician with a true passion for what I do, and I hope to convey that through my music.” Mary is a songwriter from Newnan, GA, that specializes in creating a harmonious union between guitar, and voice. Her writing spans across genres; touching upon blues and soft rock, all the way to R&B and Americana. The span of genres and Mary’s passion for writing and performing is what sets her apart in the Atlanta music scene. Her self-taught compositional and alluring performance style make for a unique, and unmissable live performance. Mary has toured with ‘Rookie of the Year’ & will be heading out on the road again in September opening for MEST, with ‘Rookie of the Year’.
As a teenager cutting her teeth in the dark, seedy clubs of the Atlanta music scene, Melody Kiser realized two undoubtable truths: everyone has a story, and Melody was destined to tell these stories through music. Raised in a musical family, Melody has been passionate and excited about music from as early as she can remember. Inspired by bands like Led Zeppelin, Heart, Journey, and many others, Melody quickly developed an affinity for rock and blues music. Melody has since performed with members of Journey, Steppenwolf, Boston, Toto, Santana, .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Zac Brown Band, Collective Soul, and Joan Osbourne. She has been a featured artist on several music cruises alongside artists like Melissa Etheridge and Nancy Wilson of Heart. She has also worked as a session musician for local, regional, and national recording artists. As the founder and leader of her own band, HeyDreamer, Melody has written and recorded two albums. HeyDreamer’s latest album, Dances in Wonderland, was produced by Will Turpin of Collective Soul. HeyDreamer are actively touring, performing, and recording in 2024.
