The Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) is excited to host the art center’s 3rd annual ‘LACA 10-Minute Play Festival: Tales from the Stage’ taking place April 11-13, 2025 in the center’s performance hall.
This year’s 10-Minute Play Festival contest that saw entries from 40 Michigan based playwrights. This year’s winning plays include: ‘Orange’ by Erin Osgood of Brighton, Mich; ‘A Rose by Any Other Name’ by Ann E. Eskridge of Detroit, Mich.; ‘Sir David Brewster’s Ghost’ by Conor McShane of Flint, Mich.; ‘After Life’ by Collette Cullen of Dearborn, Mich.; ‘The Last Dollar General’ by Rebecca Barker of Manistee, Mich.; ‘Inez’ by Rick Plummer of Ludington, Mich.; ‘Boss of the World’ by David James of Linden, Mich.; and ‘…But Then I’d Have to K*ll You’ by Derek Ehlmann of Ann Arbor, Mich.
This year’s festival will again be directed by Rick Plummer and Maripat Allen who will enlist a cast of local actors/actresses to bring these plays to life.
Tickets for the four performances of the 10-Minute Play Festival are just $25 in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $30. Show times for the April 11 and 12 performances are 7:30 p.m. and the April 13 performance will begin at 2 p.m.
Friday performances of the 10-Minute Play Festival will include a cash bar hosted by LACA volunteers.
The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is a 501c3 Not for Profit that strives to foster a community where arts and culture bring us together, feed the creative spirit, and fuel community growth. Located at 107 S. Harrison St. in downtown Ludington, Mich. LACA offers monthly exhibits, with first Friday of the month opening receptions; and a wide assortment of performances and workshops. Art Shop 107 by LACA serves as the art center’s gift shop and features amazing original artwork from LACA members, perfect for gifts or home décor.
