The Labyrinth Quartet joins the Midday Melodies Series!Presented in partnership with Chamber Music Society of Mississauga and TMA149 , this lunchtime performance brings four members of the Labyrinth Ensemble to the Hazel McCallion Central Library.
Featuring Aysel Taghi-Zada (violin), Burak Ekmekçi (baglama), Marta Solek (cello, Greek lyra) , and Yang Chen (percussion), this quartet boasts four years of training in modal music traditions of Central, West, South Asia, and the Mediterranean with a rotating roster of international guest musicians.
Coming from various areas of experience and musical backgrounds, the musicians learned to master new ways of hearing, performing, and thinking about music. We hope you will join us and do the same:
