About this Event

Talk Details

In the duration of his illustrious career as an economist and historian, John Womack's scholarship has shifted from primarily the study of Mexican history to that of labor power and strategy. His scholarship considers “strategic positions” at work and loci of work in technical connections-- namely transport, communications, or logistics, but also in manufacturing, education, and health systems. Within this scholarship, his work pays special attention to chokepoints in the supply chain and how they can disrupt production or the flow of services to labor’s benefit.

His book, "Labor Power and Strategy," will also be available for purchase at the in-person event.
