Workshop will be held in the library auditorium.Learn to advocate for better protections in your workplace and how all workers benefit from uniting in common cause to build a stronger, indivisible working class.
This workshop will cover organizing against gender violence and exploitation with focus on LGBTQIA+ workers but is useful information for all people interested in organizing as workers.
From your host:
A resurgent labor movement is forming in front of our eyes, while the LGBTQ+ movement is facing challenges from forces of reaction. Queer workers have the opportunity to declare a new
path against gender violence and exploitation by organizing along class lines.
What does this look like? How do we create material demands? Most importantly, how do we fight and win to create a better world for queer people? This labor organizing workshop seeks to answer those questions and more.
Join PFLAG as they host Katherine Applegate, an experienced labor organizer, political reformer, and public speaker, and present how the resurgent labor movement can give queer workers new ways of fighting against forces of reaction and how this labor movement must adapt to protect these workers for a stronger, indivisible working class.
