Laban: The Filipino American ExperienceThursday, October 17, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Join us at the Washington State History Museum to celebrate Filipino American History Month. In Filipino, the word “laban” means “to fight.” This community event will explore the Filipino fighting spirit and its contributions to American history. It will feature community organizations, vendors, performances, demonstrations, and a panel discussion highlighting Filipino American heritage and history.

3:30 to 4:30 PM – Cultural Demonstrations
4:30 to 5:30 PM – Tabling in Great Hall & Mezzanine
5:30 to 5:45 PM – Welcome, Presentation of Philippine Flag, & Musical Performance
5:45 to 6:45 PM – Panel Conversation on Filipino American women’s fight for advancement in various professional fields
6:45 to 7:00 PM – Dance Performance and Closing Remarks
This program is curated by the Filipino American National Historical Society Greater Puget Sound Chapter. FANHS-GPS is dedicated to curating Filipino American narratives and providing platforms for Filipino Americans in our state to share their histories.
