About this Event
What began in 1965 as a grassroots community effort to save a 12 mile Erie Lackawanna branch between Avon and Livonia has since grown into a 500-mile system operating short line railroads in New York and Pennsylvania. Help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Livonia, Avon & Lakeville Railroad with special train rides featuring vintage LA&L diesels. There railroad will also provide additional exhibits parked next to Industry Depot. Bring your cameras!
Your adventure starts just 20 minutes from downtown Rochester when you check in with the friendly ticket agent to pick up your tickets. Enjoy fun vintage train rides that depart every half hour from our historic 1909 Erie Railroad train station. Enjoy a relaxing ride through our bucolic museum grounds as you enjoy a self-guided tour of New York’s largest collection of historic trains. Take a peek behind the scenes in our Restoration Shop, and connect with Rochester’s rich railroad heritage. Refreshments available for purchase. Our museum gift shop is stocked with souvenirs for train buffs of all ages. All aboard!
