Monthly writing prompts and meet-ups for English-speaking women in Paris to explore the subjects we should, but don’t.
About this Event

Join us for our first in-person event where we'll discuss the April writing prompt: GRIEF.

Whether you choose to write a personal account or something more fictional, we’ll share our writing and explore our interpretations of the prompt together in a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space. We encourage all attendees to submit something they've written themselves a few days in advance, but no pressure! If you prefer, you can submit/bring along a piece by another (duly credited) author for us to discuss.

Looking for inspiration? Don't worry! See our Instagram page @laplumeanglaise for some tips and ideas.

**Food and drinks included!**

And even if you can't join us physically, we'd love for you to join the monthly writing challenge in your own time, wherever you are!

About us

Looking to connect with other English speakers in Paris? Wanting inspiration to improve - or start - your creative writing practice? Keen to engage in meaningful discussion around what are often difficult subjects to address? Want to share your work in a welcoming, supportive, safe, and - we hope - fun space? Then you're in the right place!

Who are we for?
 • People who identify as women, non-binary or trans
 • People of all writing abilities (beginners particularly welcome!)
 • English speakers of all levels

What do we do?

Every month, we host an in-person meet-up in Paris. Every meet-up will have a different writing prompt and attendees who have signed up to the event are invited to submit an original piece of writing for discussion related to this prompt. Submissions will be circulated to other attendees to read a few days in advance of the event. We encourage all attendees to submit something they've written themselves, but no pressure! If you prefer, you can submit a piece by another (duly credited) author for us to discuss.

What's the criteria for a written submission?

Written submissions should be no more than 2000 words. A few examples of forms we welcome are below (this is by no means an exhaustive list - be as creative as you like!):

 • Short story
 • Poem
 • Essay
 • Play
