LA Phantoms formed out of a void of the absence of local legends, Mystic Fix, and good ole Punk Rock, with a mix of southern metal. Mystic Fix had an 8 year assault on the local area in the late 1990s early 2000s. Original frontman and songwriter, Criss Drunk then met with Luke Duke and formed Southern Discomfort, before forming The Phantoms together with Mack Black, another member of The Vagrants. Southern Discomfort would be the predecessor to the LA Phantoms and Dead End Lake. The LA Phantoms would disban in 2005 when Criss Drunk moved to Ville Platte and started playing with Label 13 with the original 1993 lineup of Mystic Fix.
On June 11, 2007 Criss Drunk passed away at the early age of 33, after 20 years of dedicating his life to art and music. A documentart on his life was released in 2012, Cajun Hell.
Eventually, original bass player (Luke Duke) and drummer (Mac Black) reformed The LA Phantoms as a tribute to Criss Drunk's ligacy. They are presented here now with current lineup, Mac Black, Rodrick Miller, and Jayson Birdman.
