About this Event
Are you interested in attending public meetings, documenting them for the public, and collaborating with journalists—all while getting paid? This orientation is for you.
LA Documenters has officially launched and is ready to put the public back in public meetings.
To become a Documenter, the first step is to complete an orientation.
This orientation will cover everything you need to know about the Documenters network, how to take quality notes, and compensation.
Anyone that is interested in civic engagement, journalism or simply curious is invited!
RSVP is required!

More info about about Documenters:
The Documenters Network was created in 2018 by City Bureau, a nonprofit civic journalism lab that goes beyond informing the public. We focus on equipping people to access and produce the information they need. We make our work, process and tools as open and useful as possible.
Documenters.org centralizes public meeting dates, times, locations, official records and original documentation at the city, county, and state-level in one searchable location.
Documenters is now available in 25 cities across the U.S.
