Color in Motion — La Couleur en Mouvement
The five French artists – Pascale Cléa, Claude Gesvret, Manu Rich, Jean-Marc Trimouille, and Vincent Vallois – present a painting practice rooted in gesture, where color generates its own inner light. Their works draw on impulses from Art Informel, Tachisme, Lyrical Abstraction, and Art Brut, yet transform these legacies into contemporary, independent visual languages.
Each position develops a distinct rhythm, materiality, and spatial organization, revealing painting as an open, physical process. What matters is not the finished image, but the unfolding event – a continuous becoming in which gesture, color, and time interlace.
At Studio NOVO, these five voices form a constellation that makes painting perceptible as a field of tension rather than harmony. Origins and present practice overlap, opening a horizon that leads forward – a space where new beginnings, resistance, and the unfinished nature of painting remain visible.
